It's Day 4 of my juice detox.
I'm a big quitter. There I said it. I quit! Starving myself to lose a few pounds is NOT my idea of a healthy lifestyle change. By the middle of the third day I was so dizzy and lightheaded that I could hardly walk from my living room to the kitchen without the fear of falling. And for those of you who know me well enough to have been in my house, that is not exactly a long distance.
So, what did I take away from this "challenge"...
I also learned that just because I am quitting the challenge, I am not failing at anything. I have just learned that "juicing" is not for me.
Oh, and I've still got a TON of leafy greens in my frig... Salad anyone???

I'm a big quitter. There I said it. I quit! Starving myself to lose a few pounds is NOT my idea of a healthy lifestyle change. By the middle of the third day I was so dizzy and lightheaded that I could hardly walk from my living room to the kitchen without the fear of falling. And for those of you who know me well enough to have been in my house, that is not exactly a long distance.
So, what did I take away from this "challenge"...
- I like food... solid food that requires chewing and whatnot.
- I do not like raw ginger except when served with a California Roll.
- I love coffee. Period. Herbal tea is great when you have a nasty flu bug or something, but COFFEE is my friend and I will never turn my back on my friend again. Period.
- The farmer's market is my new favorite place to shop, even if it is almost an hour from my house.
- Washing the grit out of spinach is not easy.
- Juice is awesome... when served with a REAL meal or used as a nutritional supplement.
- Vegetables are delicious to EAT, not so much to DRINK.
- Fruits make wonderful fresh juices that intend to keep making... and drinking with my breakfast.
- Being dizzy and lightheaded makes getting ANYTHING done seem like a chore, including climbing the stairs to go to bed each night.
- Starving myself to lose a few pounds is just plain DUMB. Not to offend those that have taken the challenge and done very well with it. Kudos to you!!
- I will gladly EAT more fruits and veggies (and less crap) as part of a healthier eating lifestyle.
I also learned that just because I am quitting the challenge, I am not failing at anything. I have just learned that "juicing" is not for me.
Oh, and I've still got a TON of leafy greens in my frig... Salad anyone???
